Tis the Season Reading: Clean Christmas Reads from Indies

12 Dec

A Clean Indie Reads Short StoryLooks like I’m not the only one sending out regular Christmas reads right now.  If you haven’t heard of Clean Indie Reads, you might want to check them out. When you find a book there you can count on family-friendly fair. What does “clean” mean?

Does that mean everything on this site is squeaky-clean Disney-Princess pure?  Well, no.

They contain no erotica or sexually explicit scenes.

They contain no graphic violence or gore.

The authors have curtailed offensive language.

The site also notes:

Faith-promoting books of all religions are welcome, but this site will not post books that directly or indirectly preach against another belief system.

Sounds pretty great to me!

With that in mind they try to give you a little extra for each Christmas story such as a little author interview, some reviews, a nice size back-cover blurb. For instance, today’s post features “A Pine Cove Christmas” short story available on Amazon with the last question to the author being:

CIR: What makes A Pine Cove Christmas unique?
LEIGH: I like the setting of this book.  It takes place in an older inn located in the Adirondack Mountains. The inn is surrounded by pine trees and solitude.  It’s the perfect place to get off the grid and get back in touch with what’s real.
So with all this in mind I heartily recommend you check out theCleanIndiesReads Blog link here and book mark it while you’re there so you can easily browse them again in the future.
