Note from the Queen Mary 2

Photo from Cunard’s landing page for the Queen Mary 2.

So please to receive a note from folks on the Queen Mary 2 via email. QM2 was the largest ocean liner on the seas (till another line built bigger in 2006) and has its own planetarium among the other fantastic entertainments on board. Several years ago we had the opportunity to sail transatlantic aboard her, and now we know a couple going from Southampton to New York. Perhaps I should do a series of blog posts about the experience.

Here’s a bit of the note:

The sea calmed during the night, and after the last two days, almost seemed calm this morning. It was an absolutely beautiful morning, and we went for a walk on the deck, and the bridge was reporting a slight breeze (4). Since lunch the wind has picked up to “near gale force (7), and the waves have increased to the point that the ship is back to the up and down rolling ride. We would have thought this was bad on Friday, but after the past two days, this seems fairly mild….We went to an absolutely beautiful piano recital this afternoon. The pianist could paint a picture with music.

Looking forward to hearing more. How about you?
